Life on the ocean waves for poker player?

The poker player who finished 65th in the recent World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event wants to buy a boat when he has enough money.

Poker tournament player Larry Wright has set his sights on a "normal" life - once he has earned enough money.

The Montgomery resident, who is a roofing contractor when he is not gambling at the poker tables of Las Vegas, won $96,500 (£48,000) at this year's WSOP main event.

He finished 65th, falling just short of making the final table. Reaching the last nine players would have given him the chance to battle for the $9 million first-place prize in front of a big television audience in November.

Mr Wright told the Montgomery Advertiser of his dreams, saying: "I want to buy a boat, sit on that boat, drink beer and be normal."

The 37-year-old added that he still has someway to go before he can sit back and enjoy this kind of lifestyle.
