Online bookmaker claims British triple jumper holds the nation's best chance of winning a gold medal at next month's Beijing Olympics.
Phillips Idowu is the Great Britain team member most likely to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing next month, according to one online bookmaker.It is time for him to "step out of the shadow" of Britain's world record holder in the event Jonathan Edwards, Betdirect states.
Head of public relations at the company Charlie McCann claims it is Idowu's "time" to impress.
"If I was to say that we will get a gold medal in track and field, then it would be Phillips Idowu," he said.
The athlete recently set the longest jump by anyone in the world this year at the Olympic trials in Birmingham.
Idowu continues his preparation for the Games at the Aviva London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace this weekend.
