Poker isn't the only game with a World Series – there's the World Series of Bingo – Night of Champions too.
The World Series of Bingo was held at Classic Bingo 3, has pulled in 600 players, mostly from Detroit, Michigan and Ohio, ready to dab for the title. The competitors came armed with their lucky dabbers, good luck charms, and plenty of coffee to see them through a long night of bingo calls.
One of the winners, Valli Long, had dreamed of the event for a long time. “ I feel like there are certain times when I can win more than other times”, she said “There are times when I have a dream, and then, of course, I've bingoed. Somehow, I knew it would happen. It doesn't happen often. But when it does, I go, just go with it, and I bingo.”
The event featured entertainment from Crystal Gage, and a total of $50,000 in prizes, with the top payout being $20,000. There were several smaller prizes handed out over the night, with the first $500 jackpot being awarded within minutes of play opening. Play at the World Series of Bingo was free.
Carroll, a representative for Classic Bingo 3, said “This is a night for the customer. Giving something back to the customers, you get a chance at $20,000. That's pretty exciting.”
