Greg Raymer will head the field at the first European Poker Tour event of the season.
A host of big names are to contest the opening event of the new European Poker Tour (EPT) season in Barcelona, organisers have announced.Among those confirmed for the PokerStars-sponsored tournament at Casino Barcelona are 2004 World Series of Poker main event winner Greg 'Fossilman' Raymer, Isabelle Mercier and Victoria Coren.
In addition to other professionals, the trio will face a host of online qualifiers when the 8,000 (£6,300) buy-in event gets underway on September 10th.
Last year's tournament was not too kind to the qualifiers, as Danish professional Sander Lylloff walked away with the 1.1 million top prize.
However, the EPT has proved to be a happy hunting ground for amateur players and the 2 million top prize at last season's Grand Final in Monte Carlo was won by Canadian online qualifier Glen Chorny.
After the Barcelona event, the EPT moves on to London, where the main event will be accompanied by a special £20,000 buy-in high-rollers tournament.
