A lucky grandmother has won big money, after getting a great run of luck at the Mecca Bingo Club on Aylsham Road. The club, which last year was named the luckiest bingo hall in the country, has continued the run of luck this year, with the 61-year-old Norwich woman winning more than £34,000.
Last year, players won a combined total of £156,000 at the club, with three big wins coming within five days at one point during the year. The biggest win was £100,000, awarded to an un-named lady who scored a full house in just 40 numbers.
The woman, who does not want to be named, completed a full house to take the National Bingo Game prize of £32,245, plus a regional prize of £2,000 and a house prize of £92. She completed the full house in just 44 numbers, the lowest call out of all 470 clubs playing the game nationwide.
The 61 year old, a retired mother of three, had made an agreement with a friend that they would split the prize if either of them won. She intends to honour the agreement.
