Sports stars in the US play blackjack for a good cause - to help their predecessors.
Ex-Green Bay Packers halfback Paul Hornung was among the famous sporting faces to take part in a specially-arranged blackjack tournament recently, it has been reported.According to Wbay, Hornung joined other professionals from his sport in playing the traditional table game in order to help raise money for former players, who need a financial boost.
The tournament comes after music star Jay-Z revealed to Time Out magazine that he is often drawn to the blackjack table when he visits some of his favourite clubs in London.
Gridiron Greats was the organisation behind the latest event, which had the aim of bringing in funds for those who once played the popular US game but now need money to pay for surgery or general living costs.
The website reports Hornung as saying: "I get $900 (£490) a month. Players of today and 15 years back, if they played 11 years and get early retirement, get $8,000."
Some $20,000 (£10,000) was raised by the event, which took place in New Buffalo, Indiana.
