A poker player from Texas has won 200 transatlantic flights.
A gambler from Texas is looking forward to a lifetime of holidays after winning a poker tournament at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas last week.Continental Airlines organised the Texas hold'em event as part of the celebrations to mark the 21st anniversary of the introduction of its OnePass frequent flier scheme.
Top prize was 21 million frequent flier miles - the equivalent of 200 business class transatlantic flights.
It was claimed by Bill Shiver from Houston, who has been playing poker for four years.
Afterwards he said: "It was a wonderful experience. I didn't talk to anyone - win or lose - who didn't have a great time. I feel very fortunate and really lucky to be the winner."
Mr Shiver plans to take full advantage of his prize, starting with a trip to Italy with friends and a cruise around the Mediterranean.
The Golden Nugget is better known for slots than poker - a reputation enhanced when Debbie Psychopedas won a $1,679,200 (£900,000) Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpot there in April.
