More and more people are betting on shows like Big Brother each year, an expert has said.
Channel 4's reality television programme Big Brother has become a "really big betting market", according to odds comparison service Easyodds.David Gross, founder of the betting-themed site, suggested that other shows in that genre are also becoming more popular in terms of betting.
He claimed that this is partly to do with the fact that online betting is getting "bigger and bigger".
"It's not that the shows are getting more popular or that they are particularly spectacular, it's just that the demographic in the betting market has changed a lot and this continues the trend," explained Mr Gross.
Dancing on Ice and X Factor are two series that this also applies to, the gambling expert said.
Back In May this year, bookmaker William Hill estimated that the reality TV industry would turnover £100 million - in betting terms - throughout the course of 2008. It also predicted that Big Brother would be the most popular show for betting.
