A woman walking home from her local bingo hall in Chorley, UK, on Saturday was robbed of £300 in cash.

The 40 year old woman, who remains unnamed, was assaulted by a man who pushed her over and stood in front of her, before attempting to grab her handbag. The woman struggled with her attacker, and held on to the bag, but the attacker managed to unzip the bag and take out her purse, before running off with £300 in cash.

Sergant Andy Bramhall, who is investing the attack, said that “The woman was not hurt, but we would like any witnesses to contact us”. The victim described the attacker as 5ft 6in tall, aged between 22 and 25 years old, and of medium build, with a tan, and a small vertical scar on one cheek.

The attacker was wearing a full length, zipped, dark hooded top, black woollen gloves, dark grey tracksuit bottoms, and cream coloured trainers.

It is thought that there was a second male involved in the incident – he was described as being white European, 5ft 4ins tall, and of thin build. He was younger than the first male, and was wearing a dark hooded top with a motif on the back – possibly an eagle or a heavy rock symbol, and he was also wearing gloves and black pants.

The incident took place between 9:35 and 9:50 PM on Saturday, August 30th. Anyone who witnessed the attack is asked to contact the Chorley police.
