Like any business, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe will look to grow over the years.

An annual European poker series is likely to develop over the years, according to Casino Review Magazine deputy editor Hugh Sorrill.

The WSOP Europe, which this year began on September 20th in Leicester Square, London, is expected to expand by adding new events in the future, the industry expert suggested.

"It's a business like any other and they will expand the competition to meet whatever demand there is," said Mr Sorrill. "There continues to be strong demand for this kind of event."

Some of the world's top poker players are currently in England's capital for the WSOP Europe, which runs until October 2nd.

Highlighting Europe's blossoming poker scene further is the European Poker Tour, which is currently in its fifth series.

Barcelona played host to the first leg of the card tournament event earlier this month.
