Hurricane Ike affected US casino

Lake Charles casino is now open for business again.

A Lake Charles casino has reopened its doors after being closed while the threat of Hurricane Ike remained large.

The city's L'Auberge du Lac Casino has started allowing guests in through its doors after its temporary closure.

Restaurants and the hotel at the resort had remained open throughout the period the casino was shut.

In a statement last week, the gambling venue's owner Pinnacle Entertainment claimed that "minimal damage" was caused by the storm that affected a number of parts of the US.

Daniel Lee, Pinnacle's chairman and chief executive officer, commented: "We're pleased to welcome our neighbours and employees back after Hurricane Ike, and we thank all of our dedicated employees who worked so hard to return our properties back to normal."

Now L'Auberge du Lac Casino is open again, visitors can take advantage of the 1,600-plus slots and various table games.

Guests can play roulette, blackjack, three-card poker and craps, among others.
