Police are looking for two people who engaged in an armed robbery this Friday. The people were wearing motorcycle helmets and carrying handguns when they robbed a Las Vegas Casino Sportsbook. The pair made off with ‘a significant amount of money’, according to the local police.
Las Vegas Police Lt. Clint Nichols said that the authorities were also looking for a third person, who is believed to have driven the getaway car from the 6 a.m. heist at the Hilton Race and Sportsbook in Las Vegas.
Several gamblers witnessed the robbery, but nobody was injured in the incident. According to witnesses, two people ‘covered head to toe’, and wearing helmets entered the venue through a rear parking lot. The pair was carrying handguns and demanded cash in bags. They left with the money less than a minute later.
Nichols said ‘They were quick, we have nothing’. The police have not disclosed how much money was stolen from the sportsbook. The sportsbook was re-opened within a few hours. It is believed that this is the first incident of its type involving this casino.
