TV wedding had casino reception

Television programme scheduled for tonight will follow the marriage plans of an Ipswich couple, who installed a roulette table at their wedding reception.

BBC3 show Don't Tell the Bride is scheduled to air tonight and will feature a couple who set up a roulette table at their casino-themed reception.

The Evening Star reports that the Ipswich couple, who organised their wedding in the space of three weeks for the TV programme, set up a casino for guests to enjoy after the nuptials.

As well as roulette, the chosen venue was decorated with poker tables, blackjack facilities and a selection of fairground-style rides.

Don't Tell the Bride is a series which gives £12,000 to two people who want to get married. The cameras then follow the groom around as he tries to organise an event that often takes years to plan in the space of a month.

The Suffolk pair who star in tonight's episode are Tony and Pippa Hawkins.

Mr Hawkins told the newspaper: "I wanted it to be a very nice and traditional wedding to make Pippa happy and then to make the reception really fun so that everyone would go away saying that was the best wedding they had ever been to."

In previous episodes of the show, arguments have broken out between family members and brides have been unhappy with their dresses.
