Poker player Christian Elliot jumps from 174th to sixth place in the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) main event.

Despite the plethora of well-known poker talent taking part in the WSOPE main event in London this week, it was the relatively unknown Christian Elliot who made the biggest impact yesterday.

The man from the UK started day two of the competition in 174th position but finished sixth on the leaderboard as the players packed up for the night in preparation for today's proceedings.

It was the biggest leap of the day and it left Elliot with 231,900 chips, just under 100,000 behind overnight leader Andy Bloch.

Eric Siedel, who sits in third place, is arguably the best known poker player in the top five, while Canada's poker star Daniel Negreanu is back in ninth after losing some ground during the course of day two.

Earlier this week, Theo Jorgensen emerged triumphant in the £5,000 Omaha WSOPE event.
