Nevada entertainment capital still the gambling venue of choice with UK tourists, it has been claimed.
People from the UK would prefer to travel to Las Vegas on a gambling trip than to the Chinese administrative region of Macau.That is the opinion of Total Gambler magazine editor Chris Marais, who cited the lack of language barrier and the cheap dollar as two reasons why people from the British Isles opt for the American city over its Chinese counterpart.
"Everything you need is in Las Vegas and our readership will go [there] once or twice a year. Macau is definitely an option but Vegas is closer," said Mr Marais.

The editor added that UK gambling enthusiasts tend to go with "what they know" and Las Vegas has proved popular over the years.
According to the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority, 3.2 million people visited the city in June 2008. This figure was down 3.1 per cent on the same point in 2007.
The group also revealed that 39.2 million people visited Las Vegas throughout the course of last year.
