The opening day of the second season of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour saw a host of big names eliminated.
Germany's Andre Wagner heads the field after the early stages of the first tournament of season two of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour.Wagner, who finished 20th at the Latin American Poker Tour event in San Jose in May, amassed 109,700 chips by the time the curtain fell on day 1A at the Grand Waldo Hotel Casino.
American teenager Kofi Farkye is among his closest rivals after a day of action that saw many big-name professionals eliminated.
Barry Greenstein was an early casualty and he was followed out by Liz Lieu, Tony Dunst, Celina Lin, Eric Assadourian and Grant Levy.
Among the few professionals to make it through to the second day of the HKD 10 million (£715,000) event were Harry Demetriou and John Juanda.
Day 1B of the event looks to have a much stronger field, with Vanessa Russo, Bertrand Grospellier and Chad Brown set to enter the fray.
