World Series Of Poker Asia On The Horizon?

It has been predicted that a World Series of Poker (WSOP) Asia will "almost certainly" happen one day.

A poker world series based in Asia is likely to be created in the coming years, according to one gambling industry expert.

Hugh Sorrill, deputy editor of Casino Review Magazine, suggested that a WSOP Asia is "almost certainly" on the cards, but may take "a few years" to establish itself.

He added that there are currently different cultures between Asia and the western world in terms of gambling.

"Poker is an extremely good game that requires skill and learning. In Asia, why not?" Mr Sorrill commented.

"They are not there yet and are focused, almost exclusively, on games of chance rather than the necessary skill element of poker but I'm sure it will come."

His comments come in the week that the WSOP Europe got underway at the Victoria Casino in Leicester Square, London.
