Police have arrested 40 people in a raid on a Yadkin Road, Fayetteville, gambling house.
The raid saw misdemeanour charges being issued against the players, many of whom were Fort Bragg soldiers.
According to Lt. Chris Davis of the Vayetteville Police Department, the game was operated by Christian Lusardi, aged 36, of the 2500 block of Lullwater Drive. Police were alerted to the game when they received complaints that a gambling house was being operated out of the building.
When the raid took place, there were three gambling tables, two pool tables, and four large televisions found in the building, and around forty people inside the club.
Police officers seized around $12,000 from the patrons of the club, and around $7,000 from a game that was being run by Lusardi at the time of the raid. The police later searched Lusardi’s home, and found another $3,000.
A search of the vehicles at the gaming house found 57 Oxycodone pills, two pistols, a rifle, and some marijuana and crack cocaine.
Christian Lusardi has been charged with alcohol violations. Bail information has not yet been made available.
