Ameristar National Charity Golf Classic accrues $1.1 million (£622,000) for paralysis charity.
The philanthropic arm of US gambling group Ameristar Casinos will be hosting a golf tournament for charity next week.According to the company, the Ameristar Cares Foundation will be holding the Ameristar National Charity Golf Classic between October 6th and 7th.
In a statement, the casino group revealed that the event has raised $1.1 million for good causes this year.
The two charities set to benefit from the fundraising are The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis and The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
A number of celebrities such are set to appear at the golf tournament, including NFL hall of famer Nick Buoniconti, who played for Miami Dolphins, and Alexandra Reeve, daughter of late Superman actor Christopher Reeve.
"We're especially grateful for the generous support provided by the sponsors of this year's event, all of whom are key Ameristar business partners," said Gordon Kanofsky, chief executive officer and vice chairman of Ameristar Casinos.
