The Fox Sports Network has joined forces with the World Poker Tour to start a new poker show, ClubWPT. The show will debut on October 5th at 4PM, with an 11PM encore, and will have a regular Sunday afternoon time slot at 4PM thereafter.

The show will be based on the WPT online subscription and sweepstakes based poker and blackjack service, and will feature six amateur players from the US and Canada competing each week for cash prizes and poker fame.

Instead of requiring a large buy-in, or multi-day tournament qualifiers, prospective players can earn a slot by competing in TV Tournaments on ClubWPT.com.

Steve Lipscom, the WPT Founder, President and CEO said “Poker is the only sport that allows the everyday Joe to go up against the professionals and win life-changing money and celebrity status, and we all want to be in that seat, but most of us don't have the opportunity to invest the time or money to be a pro and play in big casinos games. ClubWPT.com gives you the opportunity--six nights a week, in your own home--to win a seat on national television and the chance to live the dream.”

Qualifiers for the show will have their travel to Los Angeles paid for, as well as a two night stay in the Four Seasons Hotel West Lake Village, and will receive spending money and the VIP treatment during their stay. FSN sportscaster Barry Tompkins and announcer Bart Hansen will be offering their commentary services for the show, which will be hosted by Alison Waite.
