A volunteer fire fighter from western Pennsylvania has been accused of rigging a bingo raffle in order to split the $1,500 prize with the winner.
The accused, Roger Nogy, aged 56, faces charges including theft by deception, and has so far not responded to media calls for a comment.
According to detectives investigating the case, witnesses reported that Nogy acted strangely when drawing the three balls to pick out numbers. He did not show the balls to the crowd, and the winner of the raffle was a friend of his.
The woman who won the prize admitted to splitting the winnings with him, and said that she had agreed with Nogy and his wife to split any bingo winnings, but claims she did not help to rig the drawing.
