The MGM Casino in Las Vegas will play host to the fourth-annual Road 2 Recovery Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament tomorrow. The tournament will start at 4PM, and registration is still open, so it’s not too late to sign up, and help motorcross and poker celebrities raise money for charity.
The tournament will feature several Supercross celebrities, including Chad Reed, Jason Thomas, and Grant Langston. Several professional poker players will also be making an appearance, including Jennifer Harman, Joe Sebok, and Andy Bloch, as well as the current World Series of Poker Main Event final table chip leader, Dennis Phillips.
The tournament is open to all, with a suggested donation of $300 as a form of buy-in. There will be Rebuys and add-ons available throughout the first hour, set at $100. The first prize will be a seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker, with second and first place winning a watch valued at $2,200.
The tournament is being held in aid of the Injured Riders Fund for Road 2 Recovery. The organisation helps riders who have suffered career-ending injuries.
Jummy Button, the founder of the organization, said “The past couple of years have been especially difficult for industry riders. Since my own recovery, I’ve dedicated my life to helping professional AMA licensed Motocross and Supercross members sustaining career-ending injuries with financial, motivational, emotional, and spiritual support.”
