Las Vegas gets new poker venue

New poker room launched at Las Vegas casino.

Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel has unveiled a new poker room designed to maintain its reputation as one of the card game's leading locations.

The Las Vegas casino's updated poker area includes ten tables carrying a maximum rake of $3 on all live games.

In an attempt to combine elements of Binion's celebrated poker past with contemporary features, the walls of the room are adorned with photographs of poker legends as well as 50-inch plasma televisions.

"There's a certain prestige associated with Binion's poker, but the main reason poker players stay loyal to Binion's is that we're always moving forward with their wants in mind," commented Glenn Casale, director of casino operations at the venue.

"When we were designing the new poker room, every concept was based on what our players had asked for," he added.

The poker room will be open 24-hours a day and boasts two bars with tableside food service.

Binion's was originally opened as the Horseshoe in 1951 by Benny Binion, one of the men credited with popularising poker in Las Vegas.
