Footballer's poker underwear popular in Burnley

Poker-themed underpants go on sale in Burnley.

Football fans in Lancashire are snapping up a range of underwear based on Robbie Blake's bad luck at the poker table.

The Burnley striker surprised supporters in a recent game against Coventry City when, after scoring, he pulled down his shorts to reveal an undergarment bearing the legend Bad Beat Bob.

Blake later explained that the briefs were given to him by a team-mate as a reference to his recent run of bad luck during team poker games.

A replica version of the pants is now available in the Burnley club shop and a spokesperson for the club revealed they have already proved popular with fans, the Sun reports.

"We've been amazed at the demand in the club shop - you could say we've been caught with our pants down," a spokesperson for the club joked.

Meanwhile, Blake has not been getting a bad beat on the football field – he scored again in Burnley's 1-0 victory over Fulham this week.
