Poker player beats nearly 600 opponents to be crowned European Poker Tour (EPT) London £1 million Showdown champion.
A four on the turn added to US poker star Michael Martin's 4-4 hand to give the player the EPT London £1 million Showdown title this week.The 24-year-old's winning hand bettered Swedish poker player Mike Tureniec's K-9, meaning the man from America won the heads-up and the £1 million first prize.
Some 596 card sharps had entered the lucrative tournament in England's capital, including famous faces from the poker and sporting worlds.
Tennis legend Boris Becker was one of the men to be dealt a hand at the event, while former World Series of Poker champions Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer were also present.
Next up for the EPT is the Hungarian Open in Budapest later this month and the Polish Open in Warsaw in November.
