The MTV host and former Miss New Zealand, Amber Peebles attended the celebrity invitational poker tournament at Auckland’s SkyCity casino last night looking, quite literally, like a million bucks.
She was wearing a dress adorned with $1 million in poker chips.
The tournament was held to celebrate the launch of the SkyCity Festival of poker, and the dress, which was made specifically for the event, was made from two hundred casino chips, each worth $5,000. The dress weight more than two kilograms.
The dress will never be worn again. Amber had a security detail watching over her while she wore the dress. She said “When I saw the dress and how much trouble they’d gone to, I thought it looked really amazing. I mean, how many times does a girl get to wear a million bucks?”
The SkyCity Festival of Poker consists of a week of poker tournaments, culminating in a championship that will include competitors such as Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker, both former World Series of Poker Main Event winners.
