Total Gambler website claims online gambling is "doing well" in Europe.
As online gambling gets legislated it is "going to rise in eastern Europe as much as anywhere", according to acting online editor of Total Gambler Ross Jarvis. The gambling expert claimed that the activity is popular in Europe as a whole, so "it stands to reason" that the eastern part of the continent will follow suit over the years.
Despite predicting online gambling growth in the region, Mr Jarvis did not think that the area's up-and-coming gaming firms would pose a threat to British companies.
Commenting on the industry, the acting editor stated: "It's more of a standard British and Irish domain, and that will be the stronghold."
Last year, Bluff Europe Magazine voted the Estonian capital Tallinn as the third best city in Europe to play poker.
London and Dublin finished first and second respectively, with Barcelona and Monte Carlo completing the top five.
