The World Series of Poker Circuit Championship event is in progress in Southern Indiana. The championship final table was decided on Monday, with the field being quickly reduced from 27 players to the final 9. The eliminations took only five hours.
The motto of the day appeared to be “Shove early, shove often”, with players busting out quickly, and making several big plays.
Stacy Kopacz was the last remaining woman in the World Series of Poker Circuit. She faired relatively well, but was busted out in 15th place. Her husband, David Kopacz, who won event number 9 earlier in the month, survived the eliminations, and will start the final table in fourth place.
The chip leader is Samuel Oberlin. He started the day near the bottom of the chip count, but won a large hand against Stacy Kopacz, and continued to dominate after that. He finished the day on 229,500 chips, giving him a strong lead against second placed Jamin Stokes, on 189,500.
The winner of the tournament can expect to go home with $143,064, and even the first to be eliminated from the final table stands to enjoy an $11,922 prize.
