Automated poker tables added to Budapest casino.
PokerTek, the US manufacturer of poker tournament equipment, has entered the Hungarian gaming market for the first time.The North Carolina-based company announced this week that it has installed seven of its PokerPro tables at Monte Carlo Budapest, a popular gaming venue in the heart of the Hungarian capital.
Last week, the eastern European city demonstrated its growing status on the card-playing scene by hosting a European Poker Tour event for the first time.
Director of Monte Carlo Budapest Attila Torok said: "We are extremely excited to be the first venue to be able to offer PokerPro in Hungary.
"We are delighted to offer such an exceptional product which is a unique concept to Hungary."
Several European gaming venues already offer PokerPro services, with casinos in Spain and Bulgaria installing the equipment earlier this year.
Last month, PokerTek announced that its tables at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City will host a $25,000 (£15,585) freeroll no-limit Texas hold'em in December.
