Big Wins for Bingo Players In Cumbria

Cumbrian bingo players claim major prizes.

Cumbria could stake a claim to be the luckiest county in the UK this week, after two local bingo players scooped major jackpots in the space of three days.

Both prizes were won at venues run by Opera Bingo, a local chain which operates clubs in Penrith, Whitehaven and Workington, as well as an online bingo service.

The first win occurred in Penrith last Thursday (November 6th), when an unidentified female player took home £22,427 after scooping national, regional and club prizes, the News & Star reports.

On Sunday night, the second winner – who also asked to remain anonymous – pocketed £15,875 on the national game and associated bonuses at Opera Bingo's Whitehaven venue.

Charlotte Kennedy, marketing manager at the gaming firm, described the two jackpots as "fantastic news".

She said: "It's very exciting when we have a big national game win in any of our three clubs, but to have two big winners over just a few days is amazing."

A 74-year-old woman recently won over £30,000 at a Mecca Bingo club in Harlow, Essex, according to the National Bingo Game website.
