The Isle Casino's manager reveals secrets of success.
While many casinos around the world struggle to cope with the economic downturn, one gambling venue in the West Midlands is enjoying a boom period.Marcel Vernon, general manager of the Isle Casino at Coventry's Ricoh Arena, said that staff at the £40 million venue are "enjoying the most successful period in the casino's history right now".
Explaining that profits, revenue and staff retention levels have all increased in recent months, he told the Coventry Telegraph that the casino's success is based on understanding the importance of customer service.
"I think the real key has been the improvement in our customer service standards," Mr Vernon remarked.
A former basketball player from New York, the manager said he has tried to introduce the customer service techniques of US casinos since joining the Coventry venue in 2006.
The Isle Casino contains 11 blackjack tables, 50 electronic roulette terminals and an 11-table poker room.
