Gambling firms slash odds on imminent transfer for Drogba
Sports betting firms are reducing their odds on striker Didier Drogba quitting Chelsea in January in light of recent events at the club.William Hill offered 9/2 on Drogba leaving the west London outfit at the beginning of the week, but now rates his chances of finding a new club during the transfer window at 5/6.
The Ivory Coast international is believed to have incensed Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari after media reports of a secret meeting with representatives of Internazionale surfaced earlier this week.
On Wednesday (November 26th), Drogba featured as a second-half substitute in Chelsea's game against Bordeaux but was unable to make an impact as the Premier League side were held to a 1-1 draw.
"The rumour mill is certainly suggesting that there is every chance Drogba's days as a Chelsea player are numbered," commented William Hill spokesperson Graham Sharpe.
Drogba has endured a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge so far and would be reunited with former manager Jose Mourinho if he joins Inter.
Betfred offers 5/1 on Chelsea winning the Champions League this year, with their chances of Premier League success rated at 8/11.
