Gambling firms offer shorter odds on Hughes leaving City.
The increasing pressure on Mark Hughes is being reflected at the bookmakers, with William Hill offering 4/1 on the Manchester City boss becoming the next top-flight manager to leave his job.City's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday (November 9th) was their third successive loss in the Premier League, leaving the north-west side just one point above the relegation zone in 13th place.
With City expected to produce results following the takeover by Abu Dhabi United Group in August, rumours that the new owners are becoming frustrated with Hughes are already beginning to surface.
"Mark Hughes will doubtless be held responsible if they do not begin to climb the table," said William Hill spokesperson Graham Sharpe.
Paddy Power is offering 9/2 on Hughes being the next Premier League manager to make an exit, although Bolton boss Gary Megson is the favourite at 7/2, despite his side's 1-0 victory at Hull City on Saturday.
