Arsene Wenger nearing end of Arsenal reign?

Gambling firms slash odds on Wenger making exit at Emirates stadium.

William Hill has cuts its odds on Arsene Wenger becoming the next Premier League manager to leave his job following a chaotic few days at Arsenal.

The north Londoners were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Manchester City on Saturday (November 22nd), shortly after William Gallas had been stripped of his role as captain for going public with criticism of his team-mates.

As a result, the betting firm slashed Wenger from 25/1 to 12/1 to be the next top-flight boss to make an exit this season, although Sunderland's Roy Keane remains favourite at 5/2.

The bookmaker is also taking bets on when Wenger will leave Arsenal, with this year priced at 4/1, 2009 a 2/1 bet, 2010 available at 9/4 and 2011 rated at 6/1.

People backing him to stay longer at the Emirates stadium can get 9/1 on the Frenchman leaving in 2012, while 2013 or later is priced at 12/1.

Wenger has appointed Cesc Fabregas as his new captain, with the Spaniard set to lead the side for tonight's Champions League Group G fixture against Dynamo Kiev.
