GUKPT finalists head to London casino for Grand Final.
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Grand Final main event started in London yesterday (November 27th), with Chris Moorman emerging as chip leader at the end of the first ten-hour playing session.Moorman stacked up 139,100 chips as the field of 87 players was reduced to 23 at the capital's Grosvenor Victoria Casino.
The winner of the £3,150 buy-in tournament will be decided on Sunday, when the 2009 GUKPT champion is crowned.
Starting in Brighton in January, the nine-leg series has also travelled to casinos in places such as Manchester, Newcastle and Luton, with the last event before the Grand Final taking place in Blackpool earlier this month.
That tournament was won by Scottish player Brian Clarke, who beat Zachary Ford in a dramatic heads-up battle to win the £96,500 first prize and secure a place in the final.
Mike Ellis, the 2007 GUKPT champion, will attempt to defend his title in London this weekend.
