Mark Hughes can call on goalkeeping cover to help his team against Arsenal
Joe Hart's injury has prompted the Premier League to give Manchester City special dispensation to sign a goalkeeper as cover, it has been revealed.Hart hurt his ankle during City's 2-2 draw away at Hull last Sunday (November 16th), and he is due to be out for at least two weeks.
This leaves City manager Mark Hughes with only Kasper Schmeichel and young Norwegian Tobias Johansen as possible replacements, and the Premier League has therefore given him permission to bring someone in as back-up.
"We can bring a keeper in on loan so we will see what is out there as short-term cover," Hughes confirmed.
"We will see who's available and see if it's worthwhile bringing anybody in."
With City's goalkeeping options seemingly limited, odds of an away win for Arsenal at the City of Manchester stadium on Saturday (November 22nd) are priced at 6/5 with both William Hill and Betfair.
However, with Arsenal also suffering with injuries, a draw at 23/10 with William Hill and 13/5 with Betfair might be a better option for sports betting fans.
