Sunflower Children founder and supermodel Helena Houdova and socialite Robterta Armani will be hosting the 2nd annual Sunflower Children Poker Fundraiser this month. The benefit will take place on Friday, November 21st at Gotham Hall in New York City.
Russell Simmons will be co-hosting the event, and a host of celebrities will be taking part in the poker tournament, including Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps, poker pro Lee Childs, model Lane Carlson, and actors Michael Kelly, Ben Bailey, Ana Ortiz, Mark Indelico, Malinda Williams and David Zayas.
The Sunflower Children charity aims to aid children around the world by sponsoring medical, nutritional, psychological, educational and other developments for orphaned, disabled, abandoned, refugee, and impoverished children.
The charity and their volunteers have sponsored 22 successful projects in 16 different countries since 2004, including aid for children in the ghettoes of Brazil, and the renovation of a center for mentally challenged and handicapped children in South Africa.
Helena Houdova, President and Founder of Sunflower Children said: "Fun in the name of compassion is what this event is all about."
