Online poker player takes down first prize at Grosvenor Victoria
Paul Foltyn is £167,000 richer after winning the grand final of the Grosvenor UK Pour Tour (GUKPT) last night (November 30th).The 24-year-old from Yorkshire defeated Jeff Duvall in a three-hour heads-up session to claim first prize at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London.
Known by his online poker tournament alias BadPab, Foltyn outlasted a field of 184 players to be crowned GUKPT champion and pocket the biggest win of his card-playing career.
He held the chip advantage at the start of the heads-up session, with Guy Steel eliminated from the final table in third place.
Former footballer Tony Cascarino also made the final table, finishing sixth, while fourth place was taken by Norwegian player Eirik Svanes.
The 2008 GUKPT began in Brighton in January, when Julian Thew took down the first prize of £86,800.
Later this week, the GUKPT Champion of Champions event takes place at the G Casino in Luton.
