A 22-year-old is looking to win big at poker
A poker player from Canterbury is looking to continue his hot streak at the Ladbrokes Poker Million, Kent Online reports.James Sudworth, 22, has won in excess of £200,000 from poker playing in the last two years, including a £25,000 win at the Ladbrokes online poker festival on Monday (November 17th) and a Caribbean cruise trip.
Should he continue his good form, Mr Sudworth stands to earn himself a $1 million cheque at the Ladbrokes Poker Million poker event - which would be especially impressive given he is a recent poker convert.
Recalling his introduction to the poker scene, Mr Sudworth told the publication: "I was studying media studies at A-level and then got a job as a bar manager but was introduced to poker one night in my local.
"It's such fun playing. I never looked back."
However, he admitted his parents were not keen on his career choice until they realised how lucrative it could be.
That said, Mr Sudworth has recommended that poker players limit themselves to bets they can afford to lose.
The Live Poker Million VII Final is due to be held on December 12th.
