Aberdeen casino applies for 24-hour licence.
Gala Casino Aberdeen will be able to offer customers in the Scottish city round-the-clock gambling if its bid for a 24-hour licence is successful. The Summer Street venue currently does business from 14:00 to 05:00, but has applied to the local authority in an attempt to extend its opening hours, the Press and Journal reports.
Gala applied for a 21-hour licence at the venue last year but was disappointed after licensing board members voted against the move.
However, difficulties faced by the gaming industry in light of the current economic climate may convince officials to approve the proposal this time round.
The Aberdeen venue includes 22 electronic roulette machines, three blackjack tables and six American roulette tables, as well as two bars and a restaurant.
Earlier this year, Gala confirmed 24-hour openings at its casinos in Bristol, Leicester, Nottingham and Tottenham Court Road in central London.
