Bingo player unaware of £5,600 jackpot in Cumbria
A woman from Workington in Cumbria received a phone call to inform her of a bingo jackpot worth more than £5,600 last week. The unidentified player left Workington's Opera Bingo club on Thursday (November 27th) believing she had only picked up the house prize of £110, the News & Star reports.
Staff at the bingo venue contacted the woman the following day to reveal she had also scooped a share of the regional and national prizes, bringing her total jackpot to £5,682.88.
Opera Bingo has now given out three large prizes in the last few weeks, with two players winning a total of £38,000 at the firm's venues in Whitehaven and Penrith during November.
"We certainly seem to be having a lucky run at Opera Bingo at the moment and certainly these three lucky ladies are in for a very happy Christmas," said the company's marketing manager Charlotte Kennedy.
Opera Bingo also provides an online bingo service as part of the Bonanza bingo network.
