Online gambling expert expects more customer care from operators
Online casino and poker firms will combat the effects of the economic downturn by paying more attention to the needs of their customers, it has been claimed.Jake Pollard, editor of eGaming Review, said he expects internet gambling companies to display more "operational diligence" in order to retain as many satisfied consumers as possible.
With many people cutting back on expenses in light of the worsening economy, operators may be worried that their customers will view gaming as a luxury they cannot afford.
"Operators are going to manage their player base much more carefully than they have done in terms of customer retention, frequency of activity and the amount being staked or spent by the punters," Mr Pollard explained.
However, the editor also said that people will continue to use online gaming and betting portals despite the gloomy financial outlook.
"If you're betting ten to fifteen pounds a weekend, if you have a job I don't think I would consider that unaffordable," he commented.
A recent survey from bingoport.co.uk revealed that the number of online bingo players has increased by 80 per cent this year, despite economic concerns.
