Bingo player reaches century of cash wins.
A man from West Yorkshire is celebrating after winning a prize at his local bingo club for the 100th time this year.Brian Parker, a 73-year-old former brickyard worker from Huddersfield, is the first person in the UK to reach such a milestone, according to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
The newspaper describes Mr Parker, who has amassed winnings totaling £10,000 at the Mecca Bingo venue in Folly Hall, as "Britain's luckiest bingo player".
He commented: "I've been playing bingo for 25 to 30 years and never been this successful.
"I don't know if I'll ever have as good a year as this, but I can only hope."
Mr Parker also managed 42 bingo prizes last year and won at the numbers game 37 times in 2006.
The grandfather plans to continue making his weekly trips to the bingo hall and will aim to beat his record again in the new year.
Earlier this month, a woman from Cumbria claimed her second major bingo prize of the year, winning £22,000 at Opera Bingo in Whitehaven to add to a £32,000 jackpot from April.
