McFadden Heads To Sydney For Poker Tournament

Brian McFadden discusses passion for poker in Australia

Brian McFadden is hoping to pocket a major cash prize at the Star City Big Game Poker Championship in Australia this weekend.

The former Westlife singer flew to Sydney from Ireland this week to take part in the tournament, which runs until Sunday (December 7th).

Between sessions at the Star City poker table, McFadden found time to speak to news.com.au about his love for the card game.

"I've been playing for years and you can definitely win some good money - but it's not all skill because so much luck is involved," the 28-year-old Irishman said.

McFadden described the event at Star City as "a big tournament, kind of the equivalent of a Sydney or Australian Open in golf", before revealing that his partner Delta Goodrem is also a keen poker player.

Speaking about the singer and former Neighbours star, he said: "Delta is a very good poker player but she never bothers playing the big tournaments."

In addition to its poker room, Star City offers table games such as baccarat, craps and roulette.
