Olympic athlete and poker player Michael Phelps has taken a big step with his girlfriend. According to People Magazine, Michael Phelps invited his girlfriend to spend Thanksgiving with himself and his family in Baltimore.
Phelps has been dating Caroline ‘Caz’ Pal, a 26 year old Las Vegas cocktail waitress, for around two months. The two met after Phelps’ record-breaking performance at the Beijing Olympics last summer. Pal is a waitress at the Palms Casino Resort’s Moon Nightclub
A source close to Pal told People Magazine “She’s there (in Maryland) meeting his family for the first time”.
Phelps has been spending time in Vegas working on his poker game. He hopes to participate in the 2009 World Series of Poker, and has already had some poker tournament success this year, making it to the final table of the Caesars Palace Poker Classic.
Phelps has already met many of the poker stars. Doyle Brunson spoke about him on his blog in September after meeting him over dinner, saying “What a nice kid! [He] said all he wanted to do in life was to eat, swim, and play poker.”
