New £45 million gambling venue planned for Isle of Man.
A developer has said that his plans for a new gambling venue on the Isle of Man contain significant benefits for the island.Albert Gubay wants to construct a casino and hotel complex on Mount Murray, an area of the Isle of Man which already houses a hotel, golf and country club.
He told manxradio.com that the £45 million development could turn the site into a complete holiday and leisure resort.
"We've got golf, we've got a health club [but] lacking is evening entertainment, which could be borne out by a casino of the quality and type that we propose to put on here," Mr Gubay explained.
"The beauty about being able to position it there is the fact that half the expenses of building a hotel have already been spent in Mount Murray," he added.
According to an earlier report in Isle of Man Today, the casino will cover 31,000 sq ft and would take two years to build.
