Negreanu advises poker players to play dangerous hands.
A leading poker expert has said that online gambling users who adopt a conservative approach are limiting themselves in terms of how much money they can win.Daniel Negreanu, writing on mlive.com, said that online poker players "have to play more hands than usual" if they want to become a successful tournament competitor.
He explained: "The only way to win is to mix it up and get involved with a wider range of starting hands.
"The truth is that you should add hands that you feel comfortable playing because it's likely you'll make confident decisions with them after the flop."
Negreanu added that he wasn't "completely opposed" to adding Ac-8d hands in steal position when players want to attack blinds - but that they should only be used in specific instances.
The problem, he said, was that these hands were "extremely difficult" to play after the flop.
Negreanu has won four World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour championship titles.
