Poker Player Newspaper is hosting the 3rd Annual Poker Employees Championship Tournament this week. The tournament started yesterday, and will run until Thursday, December 4th. The tournament is being held in the Sahara Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The tournament was formerly known as the World Poker Dealer Championships, and started with single table satellites with a $20 buy-in. The schedule for the rest of the tournament is:
Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1:00 pm: $100 buy-in, plus $20 cash
Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1:00 pm: $300 buy-in, plus $40 cash
Thursday, Dec. 4, 1:00 pm: Championship, $500 buy-in, plus $50 cash
The tournament is open to all current and former employees of a licensed public card room, including Circuit Dealers. The tournament is exclusively No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker. The previous two tournaments were a big success, drawing players from more than 60 different casinos and card rooms around the country.
Others who work in the poker industry are also eligible to play, including published poker journalists, poker book authors, marketing executives, poker cruise employees, and tournament promotion company employees, as long as the player has held a paid position within the poker industry, or an industry which is directly supportive of the poker industry.
The winner of the tournament’s main event will receive an engraved trophy to commemorate his or her victory.
