A £60 million leisure development planned for Stoke-on-Trent is set to include a new gaming venue.Developer Lear Management has already been given planning permission for the scheme in Hanley, which also includes an eight-screen cinema, several restaurants and bars, and a retail area.
Whitbread Group has also seen its plans to build a 122-bedroom Premier Inn hotel on the site approved by local councillors, the Sentinel reports.
According to the newspaper, Lear Management has so far spent £4 million on the project, which is expected to create over 600 new jobs for the Staffordshire city.
"Creating new jobs in this market is good news for the economy of North Staffordshire," said Richard Day, chairman of the city centre chamber of trade.
"It's a gateway site to [Stoke] city centre so it is an important development," he added.
The casino will be run by Clermont Leisure, operator of the exclusive Clermont Club in London's Mayfair.
