Casino in Coventry hoping for international recognition.
A gambling venue in the West Midlands is hoping to boost its international profile by winning two prestigious industry awards this month.The Isle Casino in Coventry has been nominated in the casino interior design and casino restaurant categories at the 2009 International Gaming Awards, which will take place in London on January 26th.
Val Sanders, spokesperson for the casino, told the Coventry Telegraph that the awards represent a "benchmark of quality" in the gaming industry.
"Staff from the best casinos in the world will be at the ceremony. We are looking forward to the evening enormously and are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be successful," she said.
The Isle will go up against top casinos from Monte Carlo, Las Vegas and Macau in its bid to win one of the desirable accolades.
Situated within the Ricoh Arena complex, the £40 million venue's interior boasts an artificial waterfall that is believed to the highest of its kind in the UK.
Other categories at the International Gaming Awards include best bingo operator, slot manufacturer and casino operator.
